The Gospel and Mornings

morning love

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

It’s no secret that I dislike mornings. The only thing I see they have going for them are breakfast and donut shops, sunrises and this verse.

I actually took this picture one morning from the trails near my home. Don’t worry; hell didn’t freeze over. I had stayed up through the night working and whatnot and thought I’d enjoy the sunrise without the ghastly task of having to get up early to do so. My favorite part about this picture was completely accidental. The glare of the sun created a heart where the sun and the trees meet. When I saw it, it reminded me of this verse in Psalms. Makes me smile when God leaves subtle love notes like that. It’s not often He’s caught on film.
